Unfortunately, the interior of the museum is closed for the duration of its renovation until about autumn 2023.
However, in the outdoor area you can still visit the agricultural collection, the herb garden, the garden in baroque style, the medieval garden and the sculpture garden. The entrance is through the rear gate of the castle. On the site, you will find information flyers, the cash desk of confidence and a stamp station.
Approach by car/motorcycle
From direction Braunschweig
Leave the A2/E30 at the Alleringersleben junction (64). Turn left onto the L40 towards Wefensleben/Belsdorf and follow the road for about 6.5 km. Then pass the entrance to Ummendorf and follow Wefenslebener Straße for approx. 0.7 km. At the 1st intersection turn left towards Eilsleben into Eilslebener Straße. After only 40 m leave Eilslebener Straße and turn right into Meyendorffstraße. The entrance to the museum is about 50 m straight ahead.
From the direction of Magdeburg
Leave the A2/E30 at the Eilsleben junction (65). Turn left onto the B245 in the direction of Eilsleben. After approx. 1.9 km you will pass Hakenstedt. At the 1st intersection turn right onto the B245 towards Eilsleben. Follow the road for about 6 km and pass Eilsleben. There you turn right in Bahnhofstraße onto the B 245 in the direction of Ummendorf and follow the road for approx. 2 km. In Ummendorf drive straight ahead and turn left from Eilslebener Straße into Meyendorffstraße. The entrance to the museum is about 50 m straight ahead.
From the direction of Oschersleben
From Oschersleben, drive for about 9 km on the L24 towards Emmeringen and pass the towns of Schermke and Seehausen. In Seehausen drive to the traffic circle and take the third exit onto the B246a to Siegersleben and then turn left towards Eilsleben L103. In Eilsleben continue straight on the B245/Bahnhofstraße. After 130 m turn right onto the B245 towards Ummendorf and follow the road for approx. 2 km. In Ummendorf drive straight on and turn left from Eilslebener Straße into Meyendorffstraße. The entrance of the museum is about 50 m straight ahead.
You will find parking spaces in front of the museum.
Arrival by public transport
From Magdeburg or Braunschweig: take the regional train to Eilsleben. From there you have the possibility to take a bus to Ummendorf or to walk the distance of about 2 km.
Coming from the direction of Harz: by train to Oschersleben and then by bus to Ummendorf.
Coming from Schöningen: by bus to Ummendorf via Hötensleben, Völpke, Badeleben.
Coming from Haldensleben: by bus to Ummendorf via Seehausen or via Bebertal, Hakenstedt .
Parking is possible opposite the castle in front of the church and in the parking areas at the sports field and in front of Heinemanns Hof.
Opposite the museum entrance is a charging station for e-cars.
Arrival by bicycle
The museum is easy to reach by bike. It is located on the Aller-Rad-Weg and on the town twinning path Braunschweig - Magdeburg.
It is possible to charge your e-bikes here in Ummendorf. The charging station with locker is located by the Jugendbauhütte behind the castle.
