Mankind has always been dependent on regional conditions. Due to the fertile loess soil, people settled in the Börde region very early. The oldest archaeological exhibits date back to the Stone Age, more than 7,000 years ago. The history of settlement with intensive agricultural use and the history of industrialization in the 19th century form special focal points in the exhibition.

Children up to 6 years of age are admitted free of charge.
 

School classes from the Börde district including teacher and accompanying person have free admission if the visit is for educational purposes.
