Now that Ummendorf Castle, where the Börde Museum is located, has been renovated thanks in part to funding from the ERDF programme, the basis for modernizing the exhibition space is in place.

Within the project, the Börde Museum is seizing this opportunity to further raise the profile of cultural heritage in Saxony-Anhalt. An exhibition tailored to the building and subject matter is being created. In recent years, analyses of the old exhibitions were initially carried out (e.g. SWOT analyses) and (non-)visitor surveys were also conducted.

Based on these evaluations, an updated utilization concept and a project design for a new permanent exhibition were developed. The design office museeon GbR is also involved in the design alongside the staff of the Börde Museum.
