A warm welcome from the Harz to the Altmark.
The Börde district was created on July 1, 2007. The state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt decided by law that the old districts of Bördekreis and Ohrekreis should merge. Today's Börde district is named after the very fertile Magdeburg Börde, located between the "Colbitz-Letzlinger Heide" and the "Harzvorland". This is why we describe our district in the district development concept with the motto "Best soil for a fertile future". The Börde district has established itself as a business location in the course of the structural change from an agricultural to an industrial culture.
