In the catalog, author Nadine Panteleon presents works by Hans-Jürgen Wegener. Born in Magdeburg, Wegener trained as a circular artist for painting and graphics under Wilhelm Paulke at the District Cabinet for Cultural Work in Magdeburg between 1965 and 1968. In addition to classical works such as prints, oil paintings and gouache paintings, he experimented throughout his life, but especially in his creative years from 2000 and created images in mixed techniques of oil or computer-generated prints. His main work consists mainly of graphic works.

This companion volume to the special exhibition addresses various aspects surrounding the creation of the group of figures. Thus, the course of the order is reconstructed on the basis of the surviving correspondence. It also questions why Kolbe chose this motif and how the figures fit into his overall oeuvre. The figures embody the "Four Seasons" and were commissioned to decorate the main entrance of the new manor house in Peseckendorf.
