Guided tours with special offer for children and pupils

Museum educational activity (1) "Museum object memory - new seeks old".

In addition to the guided tour through the museum, detective-like tracking down of exhibits is brought into play to liven things up. The children and accompanying adults are given an object from our everyday lives, whose historical "ancestors" they now have to discover in one of the rooms and compare with the modern piece. The AHA effect is definitely there!

Museum educational activity (2) "Around the sugar beet"

What does a steam plow have to do with sugar beets? Why and since when have the "sweet" beets been grown in local fields? To which other plants is the well-known Börde field crop related? What does sugar beet taste like? Where and how do you get the sugar in the beets? What is the significance and origin of sugar loaves? And how can they be kept small?

The guided tour through the agricultural technology exhibition and the herb garden provides an overview of all these questions, shows moving images with a high level of information from the active steam plow era, and gives visitors the opportunity to get to grips with a handy sugar loaf in the old way.
